Amazon has been accused of being slow in delivering pizzas from the Australian states to its customers, with customers waiting more than five hours to receive their orders.
Australian customers have also reported frustration that they could not find their pizza orders.
Domino`s Australia and New Zealand is Australia`s biggest pizza delivery company and is known for delivering hundreds of thousands of pizzas a day.
It was contacted by The Australian Financial Review and asked to comment on the delivery issues but declined to comment.
“We take all customer service and delivery issues very seriously and are investigating,” a spokesperson said.
“Domino`z Australia and NZ is proud to serve our customers around the world.
The company is committed to ensuring our customers get the best pizza experience, and we’re proud to continue our relationship with Domino`,s Australia, New Zealand and US franchises.”
A spokesperson for Amazon Australia said Dominos Australia had not responded to an email sent to the company asking why customers were waiting so long to receive orders.
“Our delivery team is working hard to address this issue,” the spokesperson said, adding that Domino Australia and Amazon Australia had also taken steps to speed up delivery times.
Domina`s Australian headquarters is in Adelaide, Australia.
The Australian Federal Police are investigating.
Dominos Australian head of corporate communications Lisa Sosni said she did not believe the problems were caused by the company`s relationship with its Australian franchisees, which is owned by Chinese-based company Zhaoyang Foods.
“Domino’s Australia is working closely with the Australian Government and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Agency on this issue and we have taken all measures to ensure the quality of our products are consistent with our international brand,” Ms Soski said.
The ABC has contacted Domino in an attempt to get a response from Amazon Australia.
