The popular mobile app provider QVC is launching an Android and iPhone app to enable Bitcoin and Ether payments in the US.
The company says the QVC Android app will be available to download for free starting today, and it will be adding more countries and regions to the list as the platform expands.
The QVC app will also be compatible with Bitcoin wallets such as Coinbase and Coinbase Electrum.”QVC Express delivers an amazing way to make payments to anyone in the world, including merchants, online retailers, and online platforms.
We are excited to work with Bitcoin and blockchain startups, including Bitpay and Coinbase, to bring this platform to the world,” said CEO Peter Smith.
The QVC service is also being rolled out to select US states, and the app will work with mobile payment terminals, such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Wallet, and Microsoft Wallet.
The mobile payment terminal will also work with other Bitcoin wallet providers like Coinbase, Blockchain.info, and Binance.
The app is also designed to be used as a QR code scanner, with QR codes and other text displayed on the QR code reader when the app is launched.
QR codes are not currently accepted for Bitcoin payments, however, and QVC says they are on the way.
The company also plans to integrate Bitcoin wallets with the QRCoin mobile payment app.
Bitcoin is currently not accepted by banks in the UK, however it is expected to soon.
The QR code functionality will be integrated with the mobile app, and merchants will be able to scan QR codes on their websites to accept payments.
The mobile app is available to users of Android devices running Google Play and iOS versions of iOS 8.3.4 or later.
The iPhone version of the app does not yet have QR code scanning capabilities, and QR codes will be supported only when a QR Code scanner is installed on the device.
The QR code support is available for the Android and Windows versions of the QTCoin app.
The Android app has QR code and other mobile payment support, and is currently available in Canada and Australia.
The iOS app does have QR scanning capabilities.
The Android version of QTC is also available in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan.
